Dear Aunt Noor,

My problem is very serious and I am really upset about it. I am a student at the university in the first level. I always get low grades; although, I study hard and my level is not that bad.

When I see many students who never attend the university only in exam days, and get better than me, I feel depressed and sometimes I think to quit studying. I always think of the general grade, and I want it to be excellent so I can find a good job later .To be honest with you, I feel sad and ask myself why I always make mistakes even though I know my mistakes. Besides that, doctors don’t give me what I deserve. I feel that I am a failure in life, so what can I do

F.Z

Dear F.Z,

You are not the only person who makes mistakes, all of us make mistakes, and it is not a big deal. Don’t be sad, on the contrary, you have to work hard and look for your problems, what they are, and try to solve them, you will see how it will be easy.

About these people, they might study hard at home and that is why they get high grades. See, maybe you are good, but your accuracy needs to be fixed. Try to concentrate on everything you do when you study, in order to not make mistakes and never compare yourself to others. What you have to do is to see yourself the best.

About the teachers when they give you low grades show them that you are a good student by giving your assignments on time, go and ask them if you have questions. Let them take a good impression about you, so when they correct your answer sheets, they will give you good grades even if you made small mistakes because they already know your level and the effort you put in your work.

All in all, it is not shame to make mistakes in life, but it is shame if we do not learn from them. So don’t feel depressed. You still in the beginning of your life, and as they say " laugh and the world laughs with you; weep and you weep alone".
