Security forces in collaboration with 25th Mica Brigade arrested five locals from Sarwah's Al-Matar area while they were digging the oil pipeline in an effort to blow it up.

Local sources indicated that the five-member group clashed with security forces near the oil pipeline stretching from Mareb's Safer to Ras Aisa in Al-Hodeidah.

The clashes resulted in arresting three of the attackers after two of them were injured while two managed to escape. The injured attackers Sallam Ali Al-Amri and Mohamed Saleh Ali were rushed to the hospital, while the one arrested was Jarallah Hadi Al-Salehi.

This is considered the first operation of its type in 2008. Earlier to this, the line was targeted by over 30 operations the last of which was made by the end of 2007 and resulted in leakage of big quantities of crude oil. It is worth mentioning that this incident is the first of its kind in Mareb, where security forces foil an attack attempt.
