The efforts led by local authorities in Al-Jawf managed to contain the gathering and sit-in by Al-Jawf province's Dihm Tribe affiliates made in protest against the court ruling by the State Specialized Penal Court last week, sentencing two Dihm tribe affiliates to death over spying for Egypt. Al-Jawf local authorities told the protestors that the ruling against Abdu Al-Aziz Al-Hatbani, 45, and Hamad Ali Al-Dhahouk, 50, will not be executed. Meanwhile, Dihm Tribe described the court ruling as ministerial, stressing the tribe's sons are psychologically afflicted and have been unable to secure livelihood for themselves, let alone spying. They also added that they are not killers and thus none can kill them. For his part, Al-Jawf deputy governor Ahmed Mohamemd Al-Akwa'a assure Dihm affiliates that their fellows will not be executed and this caused them to stop gathering or protesting. Early this month, the State Penal Court chaired by Judge Muhsen Alwan ordered sentencing both Al-Dahouk and Al-Hatabani to death after being convicted of giving false information which harms Yemen's relations with neighboring countries.
