Security Officials Continue Investigation on Yemen Post Editor in Chief Car Attack |

Yemen post received a phone call from head of general relations in Sana'a security office, Colonel Ahmed Al-Ofgi saying that they would like to further investigate with the Editor in Chief about the car attack incident."We regret for what happened and will immediately make an investigation to insure that it does not happen again" Al-Ofgi said. "We are against such actions completely." The editor in chief's car was attacked by an unknown person last week. The person was wearing a blue suit and broke one side window of the vehicle, and was trying to break another window when employees at the Yemen Post office heard the window crack and tried to catch the suspect. However, upon trying to follow the suspect, he ran in a car, which was waiting for him in the next block and drove away. The Journalist syndicate condemned the incident and considered it an attack on press freedom. Meanwhile colleagues in newspapers and news stations condemned the incident as well and demanded the government to investigate the incident as it gives a negative image to press freedom. Hakim Almasmari, Yemen Post Editor in Chief received a phone call from the Ministry of Interior condemning the attack." We condemn the action against and we are trying to find the attacker and take him to court of justice", said the Ministry of Interior source.
