Thousands of Yemeni women protested on Thursday demanding all Arab and Islamic governments to cut ties with Denmark together with boycotting all Danish commodities, considering this to be the least religious duty to do in defense of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

Over 10,000 Yemeni women demanded Arab and Islamic leaders to hold an exceptional Arab and Islamic summit wherein they call on all world leaders, UN, Security Council and others to work for giving up the insults and slandering against prophets together with issuing a regulating law that criminalizes this attitude.

Minister of Endowments and Guidance Judge Hamoud Al-Hitar stressed the importance of taking a firm stance of the continuous slanders by foreign papers in a way that prevents their reoccurrence in future and save the dignity and holiness of religions and prophets. He also called on Danish cartoonists for dialogue.

Religious Scholar and Islah Party Leader Sheikh Abdul Majeed Al-Zindani called on all Arab and Muslims to boycott all those who defame their beliefs and sanctities.

Germany was not removed from this and it was harshly criticized by protestors and Yemeni mosque preachers as the criticism was directed to German Interior Minister who called for reprinting the cartoons in German papers.

The preachers stressed this comes within the frame of the crusade war waged against Islam and Muslims.

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh who happened to be in Germany when Interior Minister called for reprinting cartoons stressed, in his statement, the importance of dialogue between religions and civilizations.

Saleh pointed out that there are some people who slander our Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and our religion and hinted this stirs the feelings of over one billion Muslims worldwide.

He added that he talked with friends in the European Union and informed them about the stance of Muslims and Arabs from such cartoons which slander Prophet Mohamed, expressing his surprise over the inaction of Europeans against these abusive cartoons.

Observers told the Yemen Post that German Interior Minister's statements are a source of irony and they harm Germany that maintains good relations with Arab and Muslim countries especially Yemen.
