The secretary general of the ruling party, General People Congress, Abdul Qader Bajamal harshly attacked the opposition parties represented in the Joint Meeting Parties as he pointed out they are to be blamed over the events in the south of Yemen, hinting they are financed by foreign parties.

Bajamal assured the philosophical and ideological mentality of GPC is oriented to dialogue and accused JMP of lacking such open mentality and resorting to dialogue just as a tactic.

"We don't see that dialogue is a kind of tactic or coincidence and we informed them [JMP] that dialogue is a necessity and there is a world of difference between necessity and coincidence as the first one means that the political life cannot be realized only with dialogue," remarked Bajamal.

Bajamal expressed the ruling party's readiness to discuss any proposal submitted by the opposition and hinted the situation in the southern provinces need to be addressed, maintaining the JMP are just voicing nonsense political slogans.

He also noted that tearing the flag of the Republic of Yemen in one of the festivals is a conviction in the part of opposition parties more than in his party's side and stressed these protests and festivals are stirred up by them.

Moreover, the GPC secretary general indicated that he has enough documents to convict each and every one including what has been said, heard, uttered or published in newspapers and electronic sites and hinted they assume leading positions in their parties.

He also revealed that there is a disagreement over two points including the electoral system wherein opposition parties represented in parliament and others adhere to the 'relative list' and the second thing relates to the constitutional amendments. Still, he admitted that some kind of agreement exists over some matters including the local governance.

Speaking of Al-Ba'ath Party, Bajamal pointed out that it is a realistic party and is not taken by the reaction as is the case with others represented in the JMP.

He raised a new initiative with three main points the first of which proclaims unity as a red line and all should shoulder responsibility in this respect together with having a legal and solid hold of media. The last one states that everything can be dialogued once the national unity and media issue are controlled, hinting that everything can be discussed but within the frame of law and constitution.

Contacted over phone by Yemen Post, Mohammed Qahtan declined to comment on Bajamal's speech.

The recent statements and speeches does disclose the seriousness of the existing crisis between the opposition parties and the ruling party and the former now stresses the importance of admitting the existence of the south issue as a real passage for discussing the crisis and achieving the comprehensive reforms nationwide.
