A source at Interior Ministry denied that the fire that occurred on Saturday morning in a furniture show below the Sydney Hotel located in Sana'a 60-meter Street resulted from a blast.

The source assured that an electric mass or cigarette could be blamed for the show fire, hinting the blast that was heard resulted from breaking sound barrier by a war aircraft while it was in regular exercise.

The fire which stretched to the hotel caused material losses estimated at YR 10 million; however, there had been no human losses. Civil Defense unit was summoned to the site and it helped put of the fire.

Other sources indicate that the fire resulted from a blast that hit a nearby gas station, but this is denied by witnesses.
