Attended by 120 doctors specialized in blood and cancer diseases, Aden University's Faculty of Medicine held a symposium over the period March 27-28 to discuss the modern techniques used in the treatment of cancer and blood diseases.

Aden University Rector Dr. Abdul Wahab Rawih indicated that cancer is dangerous as it has been more existent than ever before and stressed his university represented in Faculty of Medicine is paying utmost attention to this irremediable disease.

For his part, chairman of Al-Amal Center for Treating Cancer Jamal Abdul Habib pointed out that he thought their task will be an easy one; however, they were shocked at the appalling number of cancer cases recorded by the center over these few months.

He hinted the increased number of cancer cases especially of lymph nodes and breast cancers prompted them to hold this symposium, adding that his center is incapable of holding the increased numbers of cancer cases as it just contains 21 beds of which eights beds are meant for blood diseases.
