Not new to the Arab world, this year’s Arab Summit did not come out with anything new. For most observers who watched the summit, it was a complete shame on behalf of all Arab leaders. Prior to the summit, one head of government at a time cancelled his plans to attend the summit, starting with Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt and ending with Yemen and Jordan. My question now is, why do we even have such summits when all they do is cause more chaos and separation to Arab countries. In the past, all differences between Arab countries were kept quiet and not announced to the public for political reasons, but since the Arab Summit were held every year, all differences came out to the open, and countries boycott or weaken its delegation in the Arab Summit to show their unhappiness with the hosting country. Even Africa with its starving economy and large number of countries were able to unite. Many blame the United States for the growing differences between Arab countries. However, when will we stop blaming others for our weaknesses and faults. One day we blame Israel, the next day the United States and in the future we will blame China. We are very good in blaming others instead of finding solutions for our problems and putting them into implementation. Finger pointing has to stop and hands need to join in order of the Arabs to even hope for a prosperous future.
