Dear Aunt Noor,

Thanks for your advice and comments. I always read them because they are useful and some of them help me to get over hardships.

I finished high school two years ago, and I tried to study medicine but I was not enrolled. I am the kind of student who is very studious, patient, and outgoing too. Could you please provide me with a list of colleges that adopt my character and assure me a promising future? To inform you, I got a 91% mark in high school.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Ahlam Najeeb

Dear Ahlam,

I am happy to read your letter, but before I answer your question, I want to congratulate you for your high percentage you scored in high school.

About my advice, I think you are the person who could decide, but I still can help you by giving you some bold lines to put in mind when deciding what college to choose.

1- The medicine field: this field needs from you strong effort and financial support. So it could fit you because you are very studious as you described yourself, but at the same time you will spend a longer time in studying and that will reduce your outgoing characteristic!  Moreover, you should put in your mind that you will need to continue high studies and be always updated to the latest researches and practice a lot if you want to really be a good doctor.

2- The IT field: this field is very interesting and opens many doors for you. To be a genius in this field, you should be patient but also you need to have a clean mind, logical thinking, and somehow it is better if you love mathematics and physics. But as a female, it gives you more flexibility to work from home, if your marriage circumstances prevent you from going out to work in the future, like to be a web designer or something like that.

3- Finance, accounting, management: those fields are easier than the previous fields but they still need some effort. It might help you to get a job easily in the future especially if you have excellent English and computer skills.

4- Literature, languages, or education: also these fields are easy to study and job opportunities are not so difficult but you should have the ability of memorizing, and in some parts you will also need to have writing skills.

I talked about the main colleges only because as you know we have tens of colleges to talk about. When you decide, I want you to think about your abilities. I want you not to study something that you don’t love. Finally, there is no career that promises an excellent future and you are the one who draws your future!
