Chairman of Siyag Organization for Protecting Childhood Ahmed Al-Qurashi announced the launch of his organization with a symposium on 'Minor Females Marriage between Sharia, Law and Social Norms'.

In a press release, Al-Qurashi stated that the symposium is the beginning for many activities aiming to support children's rights and to achieve a safe and stable childhood.

He added that several member of parliament, judges, lawyers, human rights activists and journalists will present papers on minor females' marriages and future damages.

Al-Qurashi, who was honored by the World Labor Organization in 2006 through its office in Yemen, hinted that the physiological and social risks caused by this phenomenon prompted him to hold the symposium and other upcoming activities.

The statement called on all those interested to attend and to put forward their opinions and questions. The symposium will be held Tuesday at 9 o'clock in Sana'a International Hotel's hall.
