Official sources close to President Saleh announced that he ordered officials to provide financial aids to Yemeni youth burnt by Saudi security in Khamis Mushit area last week.

This came after several newspapers and websites published reports and news stories about the incident in which 18 Yemeni youth infiltrators were subject to burns of different degrees.

Saudi security forces were harsh this time as they poured kerosene all around the hole in which the 18 infiltrators hid and set fire to it. Three of them were subject to first-degree burns and they are now hospitalized in Al-Hodeidah.

Saleh directed authorities to provide free of charge services to all the youth at state expenses. The Saudi Embassy in Sana'a gave no explanation to what happened; while Saudi Interior Ministry mentioned that they were burnt as they were searching in a burning garbage dump.

Yemeni youth go on daily basis to Saudi Arabia in search for work to support their families behind. Over 2,000 Yemenis illegally enter into Saudi lands every month, according to official reports.

It is seen by most Yemenis to be the easiest way entering Saudi Arabia, and they do so in order to escape the complex sponsorship system and visa costs which could mount to YR 750,000.
