According to security sources, the situation in Sa'ada got tense as Houthi followers attacked a military camp stationed in Al-Ja'amalah area. The attack left behind four soldiers dead and another six injured.

In return, the army launched a counter attack and killed two Houthi followers. It also waged a missile attack on Matarah and Al-Ja'amah. Different violent clashes were reported in these two areas over the last three days.

In other developments, Houthi field leader Abdul Malik Al-Houthi’s office accused Yemeni authorities of seeking help from American Commandos to target Houthi leaders including him. The Yemen Post contacted the U.S. Embassy to comment, and embassy spokesperson denied any connection to the accusations, and said that U.S. commandos have not been involved in Sa’ada against Houthi loyalists.

The plan, according to Al-Houthi’s office, has two goals. The first one is to target the leaders of the Houthi movement at the top of whom comes Abdul Malik Al-Houthi. The operation is accompanied by intensive missile attacks on Dahian, Matarah and Al-Naq’ah.

Local sources revealed that Houthi followers also introduced checkpoints at the entrance of Dahian city and Al Al-Saifi area. The sources added that locals started to evacuate their houses and farms in these two areas seeking safe places in other areas of Sa'ada province and fearing constant and fiercer clashes.

Likewise, sources from Amran province mentioned that fighters launched attacks on Harf Sufian District's Wadi Shabarah targeting over 800 Houthi followers who were blocking the main road linking Sana'a and Sa'ada since Thursday.

The local authorities warned locals in the area to evacuate it before fighters started to comb the area. Sources also indicated that some Houthi rebels attempted to assassinate Harf Sufian's Chief of the District and the operation resulted in killing four people and injuring two of his bodyguards.

Sources added that secret and intensive meetings are being held in Sa'ada by security and military commanders together with foreign and local leaders to discuss war strategy and setting the new plan for it.

Local sources revealed that brigades from the Republican Guards were deported to Sa'ada to participate in the 5th war and they are armed with missiles and cannons and other heavy weaponry. It has been the first time in which republican guard forces led by Col. Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh join the war in Sa'ada.

Al-Houthi told Al-Arabia that they have reliable information about the existence of foreigners inside the military camps and their tasks include setting war plans, tactics and control the missiles.

He also considered the existence of American units is seen to be a blatant interference in the country's policy and sovereignty, hinting the problem could not be solved militarily.
