President Saleh Calls for Containing Lebanese Turmoil

President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Saturday the Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Ottri who conveyed a letter from President Bashshar Al-Asad relating to the bilateral and brotherly relations between both countries and the means for developing and upgrading them at all fields.

President Saleh and Ottri discussed as well the situation in Iraq and Palestine as well as the recent developments in Lebanon and called on Arab countries to work for containing the turmoil in the country.

For his part, Saleh stressed the important of coordinating efforts for containing the sorrowful developments at the Lebanese front and to work for bridging the gap in a means that realizes the reconciliation and saves the country's stability and unity.

Meanwhile, Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Mujawar and Ottri presided over the meetings of the Yemeni-Yemeni Joint Higher Committee that kicked off on Saturday.

Mujawar stressed that Yemen is interested in widening the cooperation fields including development, economy, trade, culture, services and others stressed the importance of having regular meetings to bolster cooperation at all levels between both countries.

Likewise, Ottri pointed out that Yemeni and Syria enjoy good relations and this motivates them to work harder achieving further economic coordination and integration, increase trade exchange, improve the role of the businessmen council, and encourage investors to establish joint development and investment projects in both countries.

He also reaffirmed his country's stance of the different regional and international issues, hinting they always call for dialogue as a means for settling disputes. He renewed their support to the Yemeni Initiative for Palestinian national reconciliation aiming to put an end to the internal clashes between brothers in Palestine.
