This week Yemen is celebrating its 18th anniversary for the unification of the North and South, even though problems and calls to damage the unity is in the air. There are people who want to harm the unity of the country, and in specific Yemeni socialist leaders living abroad. Last week, Al-Attas, a high ranking South official who is currently living in exile replied to the president's call for them to return to Yemen by saying " Saleh wants us to return to Yemen and not give us something in return". When I heard this I was ashamed, because Saleh is not the king of Yemen, but the president of Yemen, and he does not have the right to give them anything, and for what, just to come back to Yemen! Shame on those people who want personal benefits and ignore the benefit of the country. This makes people believe that such politicians do not work for the benefit of the people, but have their own personal agenda to work on. In the end, the ones who suffer most are the innocent citizens who protest and get killed, while those for are behind it sleep in comfortable beds. To those leaders in exile, I would like to inform them that nearly 40 people have been killed and another 260 injured in the south, and all them supported their leaders in exile, while they laugh and watch others die for them. You don't deserve all of this, and for that you don't even deserve to be in Yemen. |
