Tribal sources told the Yemen Post that a tribal war is potential in Al-Zaher district involving Aa’l Hamad Hussein Tribe (from Al-Ashraf Tribe) and Aa’l Abu Hussein from Al-Ashwlan Tribe.

The situation tensed after the ambush that targeted Al-Jawf's secretary general of the local council Abdul Wahab Al-Dhamin by Houthi elements affiliates with Aa’l Hamad bin Hussein Tribe on the road linking Al-Mutown and Al-Zaher districts.

The sources also indicated that Wednesday's attack was primarily targeting Sheikh Abdullah Saleh Al-Jaishi who was killed along with his brothers, Mohammed Al-Qanas and Al-Dhamin.

Meanwhile, the sources revealed that the attack by Houthis was made in retaliation for killing the Houthi field leader Abdu Mohammed Naji Abu Ras, listed among those wanted by authorities.

Security men along with tribal people collaborating with authorities and tasked with hunting after dangerous elements in the provinces stopped him in a checkpoint; however, he refused to surrender and this caused the hunters to kill him.

Local sources mention that the situation is tense there, and locals fear a potential war between both tribes especially when each tribe is summoning their members.
