Yemeni Airways signed a deal this week buying ten Airbus A350 XWB planes as part of their plan to modernize its long flight fleets, as it desperately tries to keep in the heart of the aviation competition with neighboring Gulf States.
The planes inner sections will be divided into two comfortable forms for travelers: eighteen seats for the first class and two hundred sixty five for economy class passengers.
"We are very happy for the tremendous grow and success in our planes, and we hope to soon start our flights across the different continents,” said Captain Abdul Qhalig Al-Qadi the of the Yemenia Airways Office."
Nowadays Yemenia Airways have four airbus A310 planes and two A330-200 models for its long distance flights,” he added.
The Airbus A350 XWB planes are very wide shaped and are considered one of the most advanced airplanes in the world from the technical angle. The planes will be ready for passengers in 2013.
From another angle, Yemenia Airways faces a difficulties competing with other competitive regional gulf airways who modernized their aviations tremendously over the last five years.
Negatively for Yemenia Airways, it raised its flight prices while in the same time most Gulf Airways gave its customers less prices and better deals. This has raised the shares of Gulf Airways, which in the same time resulted in Yemenia having a losing financial year.
It is worth mentioning that Yemen owns 50% of the Yemenia airways while Saudi firms own the remaining half.
