Friday morning a strong car bomb exploded in front of a governmental security complex killing and injured nearly 20 citizens, among them six women.

The question that everyone is putting is who could be behind such attacks. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack, but I still doubt that they were behind it.

Al-Qaeda and such Jihad groups would try to harm oil fields or governmental interests as we all know, and not Yemenis walking in the street where no bar or dance club exists.

For this I suspect that this is Houthi related and will tell you why. Last week after President Saleh announced the end of the war, he over exaggerated it a bit, I think what he wanted to say is that the war was almost over, and he was sort of right if he meant that. The end of the Sa'ada war does not mean the end of the Houthi uprising, because not all were killed, and many escaped Sa'ada as a tactic of war. This is why I believe that the car bomb was planted by Houthi loyalist to show the government that they can attack them outside Sa'ada, and even in the South of Yemen where no one suspects them of having followers there. Governmental forces were attacked in the incident, and they are exactly who Houthi followers want to hurt.

Who knows, it could even be members of the Southern movement who did so prior to the court hearing of some of its leaders this week to send a message to the government.
