Palestinian Ambassador to Yemen Ahmed Al-Deek denied what was reported by the Deputy Ambassador of the Palestinian Embassy in Sana'a that the embassy will close its doors, due to the numerous and different representation the country has in Yemen.

Al-Deek mentioned in a  press release that the "embassy is open" doing its duties as usual, affirming the deep-rooted Yemen-Palestinian relations. This announcement comes as a shock to all, especially after the Deputy Ambassador in Sana’a announced on live television while talking on Al-Jazeera News Station that the embassy will close its doors, which made many to believe that differences between embassy employees are strong.

According to the Deputy Ambassador, the closure of the embassy is also in protest to what he called the illegal arrest of ten Palestinian citizens by Yemeni security authorities over suspected crimes. It is worth mentioning that among the arrested are a number of Palestinian diplomats, who are still under Yemeni custody even after the general prosecution ordered their release immediately.
