The Specialized Penal Court set November 18 as a date for delivering a verdict on the case of wasting the money of shareholders at the Watani Bank for Trade and Investment.

Eight persons were accused of plotting the matter that included chairman of the board of directors of the bank and the board members as well as the custom authority representative.

The money was estimated at YR 19.7 billion.

An unknown man is expected to go on trial which will see a ruling on the accused.

The man will be tried on a complete decision accusing one  of the bank employees who worked at the bank branch in Khawlan street of steeling over $ 151,000.

The sum was allegedly transferred through the bank networks to personal accounts.

In March 2007, the court convicted, after 18 court sessions, some of the accused with the crime and sentenced  them for jail terms ranging from 1-2 years.
