Within the Yemen ongoing support for the people of Gaza, the Yemeni government has announced telephone calls to the strip and other Palestinian territories would be free.

The move, which comes under President Ali Abdullah Saleh's orders, aims to boost the contact with Palestinians, particularly those who are under Israeli sea, air and ground assaults for a third successive week , Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology Kamal al-Jabri said in a statement.

Yemen is making major efforts to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza strip either through providing relief materials or diplomatic actions calling for an instant ceasefire and brining Israeli criminals to justice.

Since Israel began pounding Gaza on December 27, Yemen is doing its utmost to ease the sufferings of the Palestinian people in the strip.

Israel is pounding the Gaza strip, although the Security Council issued a resolution two days ago calling for halting military operations in Gaza.

More than 1050 Gazans have been killed and more than 3900 injured since the war started.
