The Al Tagheer Organization for Defending Human Rights and Freedoms has renewed calls for an investigation into the incident in which 18 Yemeni migrants were burnt by Saudi Police on Yemen's border with the kingdom.

In a statement, the organization urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contact Saudi authorities over the matter in an effort to find facts about the incident and ask Saudi authorities to compensate the immigrants.

Moreover, the organization has called on Saudi authorities to investigate the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Early last year, Saudi police poured fuel on 18 Yemeni immigrants on Yemen's border with Saudi Arabia and set fire on them.

Saudi officials claimed then the Yemeni immigrants were trying to enter Saudi territories illegally.

Many Yemeni citizens try to enter Saudi lands through the kingdom's border with Yemen.

These people always seek to search for jobs and better lives.

Saudi Arabia is currently considering new measures to monitor its borders and curb illegal immigration completely.
