Yemen to Take Part In 8th OIC Information Ministers Meeting

Information Minister Hassan Al-Lawzi headed Monday to the Moroccan capital Rabat to take part in the 8th meeting of Information Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

The conference will start next Tuesday.

Upon departure, Al-Lawzi said that the meeting would discuss the role of Islamic media in the issues of Islamic nation, particularly the Palestinian issue and the ongoing Israeli assault against the Palestinians.

The minister affirmed the importance of coordinating efforts of Islamic official media to face all challenges in the Islamic world.

"The conference will also discuss means of interaction with all the challenges facing our nation, particularly the hostile media trying to tarnish the image of Islam", said Al-Lawzi.

"The conference will review proposals on the information system of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in line with the dramatic developments of the global media technology".

The Minister noted that this meeting will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) which was established in 1969 in Rabat, Morocco.
