Informed sources told Yemen Post that Parliament Speaker Sheikh Abdullah bin Hussain Al-Ahmar has been transferred to Saudi Arabia for continuing the treatment. The source stressed on the matter that his medical condition is stable.

Sheikh Al-Ahmar is now in Saudi Arabia's Specialized King Faisal Hospitalwhere he will continue his treatment, as his spokesmen denied news that spoke about Sheikh Al-Ahmar's death.

Last week, President Saleh paid a visit to Sheikh Al-Ahmar in London as political observers believe the visit to be a last minute attempt and aimed to ease the recent tension between Saleh and Al-Ahmar's sons, Hussain and Hamid.

Observers further stressed that problems will swell between both sides in case Sheikh Al-Ahmar, the father, passes away for he has used a balanced policy with President Saleh since the latter reached power in 1978; while his sons have expressed publicly their dissatisfaction with his rule.

Despite the fact that he is the head of the biggest opposing party – Islah Party – Sheikh Al-Ahmar continued his support for Saleh, particularly during the 1994 civil war between the North and the South and during the recent presidential elections conducted on September 20, 2006.

Tension between the President and Al-Ahmar's sons this year have caused chaos and demonstrations throughout the country, leaving many to feel that the stability of the country is at great risk.
