In a symposium themed "the role of Yemeni workforce's role in Yemen's integration into Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the requirements of its qualification", Yemen demanded an annual share in workforce inflow to the Gulf countries.

Further, the participants stressed the importance of establishing an office to supervise the training and qualification of Yemeni technical cadre in a way that enable them to compete over other nationalities and in line with the requirements demanded in Gulf countries.

They also ask for supporting the National Strategy for Technical and Vocational Education together with raising the volume of students enrolled in such an education to 15 percent.

The strategy dictates establishing 137 vocational institutes and 15 community colleges. It also stressed that a comprehensive study of GCC labor market should be conducted to decide upon the required specializations.
