Human Rights Minister Huriah Mashhour has said she will boycott sessions of the cabinet after the General People Congress led by the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh attacked her on its media outlets.
An online newspaper of the GPC posted on Sunday a news story in which it cited that Mashhour demanded legalizing sexual freedoms, banning of polygamy and evoking of Quran legislations
For her part, Mashhour told Alsahwah.net that she will boycott the cabinet session on Tuesdays at protest in what she described insults and incitements launched by the GPC against her.
She spelt out that the GPC attacked her after she demanded to create an independent committee to investigate events of the last year in which hundreds of peaceful protesters were killed and wounded.
She made it clear that the investigation of killings was among the articles of the executive mechanisms of the GCC power transfer deal.
Mashhour said she demand to revoke the immunity law and her demands outraged the GPC, pointing out that the recommendations concluded by the UN Human Rights Council requested to cancel the immunity law. The minister said she refused any recommendations that contradict the Islamic law and the Yemeni Constitution, accusing the GPC of inciting the Yemeni community against her.
Mashhour stressed that she will not attend any meeting of the government until proper measures taken against ministers of the GPC who impede the political settlement that includes creation of an independent investigation committee and the pass of the transitional justice law.
She singled out that she will file a lawsuit against the GCP website that incited the public opinion against her.
