A jet fighter crashed on Wednesday in Yemen's business capital of Aden, with a technical fault blamed for the incident, according to security sources.
The pilot survived, the sources added.
But eyewitnesses said the jet was flying very close to the ground, adding the pilot might die after no parachute was seen after the fall in an uninhabited area.
Local sources said the crash took place in the afternoon in Al-Buraika district while the airplane was on training. It took off from the Alanad military base.
The crash site was cordoned off by police, local sources said, adding smoke billowed in the sky after it.
Many jet fighters flew over Abyan province today where there was a rally by the southern movement in front of the house of Tariq Al-Fadhli.
