President Ai Abdullah Saleh said on Monday that the next parliamentary election would be held on time whatever happens.
In his speech during a visit to the Higher Military Academy in Sana'a, Saleh attacked the Joint Meeting Parties, opposition coalition, saying it was a mistake that the ruling party, he leads, had signed the February agreement with the parties for the delay of 2009 parliamentary election to 2011.
The election will take place as it was agreed, with or without the participation of the parties, Saleh said.
In response, the spokesman for the JMP said that that deal should be implemented as whole and that any side violates some or all of it should be held accountable.
The ruling party is postponing the national dialog and it is not serious over holding it according to the February agreement; hence, the party should be held responsible for any consequences, he said.
