The U.S. administration is giving attention to and is studying dialogue to fight terrorism in Yemen, the U.S. ambassador said.
At his meeting with Minister of Endowments and Guidance in Sana'a, the newly-appointed envoy to the country Gerald Michael Feierstein said the dialogue with the Islamic world is a basic pillar of the U.S. foreign policy for achieving global peace and security.
The meeting discussed the Yemeni-U.S. ties and the experience of dialogue to fight terrorism in the country as well as the situations of the Yemeni Gitmo detainees and their rehabilitation.
Minister Hamoud Al-Hitar hoped the U.S. would use dialogue as a tool to face terrorism because it costs less and achieves results better than those achieved with the use of military force, pointing out that thought is to face thought and violence begets violence.
