Firefighters managed today at Sana'a International Airport to end the fire that broke out in one of the engines of the C-130 aircraft belonging to the Yemen Air Force after it lost track and left its runway, which resulted in it falling on one of its wings, causing flames in one of the engines.
The Head of the General Civil Aviation Authority Hamid Faraj said, "the plane was arriving from Amman, Jordan, when it suddenly left the runway after landing at the airport, causing it to crash on one wing and ignited a fire in one of the engines."
He pointed out that the airport was closed for a brief period of time. No injuries were reported, as Faraj confirmed that the airport and air traffic is now running normal.
He affirmed that the Aviation Authority will open a joint to find out the causes of the accident and results will be released to media.
