Nearly ten thousand people gathered in Yemen’s capital Sana’a in a peaceful rally organized by the ruling General People Congress party (GPC) protesting against the opposition, the Joint Meeting Parties, JMP.
In the rally in which activists and citizens participated in, they carried posters of the President Saleh, and chanting slogans supporting the president.
Coinciding with the joint meeting with parliament and shura councils in which President Saleh renewed his call for opposition parties to resume dialogue with the ruling party.
Anti-riot police with batons and police cars were deployed early today to the streets as the opposition is vowing to step up protest against the corrupt regime.
On the other hand, the Joint Meeting Parties plans to hold rallies in various Yemeni cities tomorrow to protest against the ruling party.
