Ting Wu, the economic officer at the US embassy in Sana’a expressed the embassy’s disappointment at governmental media outlets for sending fabricated news sourcing the US embassy in Sana’a as saying that the United States believes that President Saleh must return to Yemen in order for Yemen to resolve the political and economic crisis.
The three main governmental media outlets, Motamar.net, al-Thawra newspaper, and September 26 newspaper were all sent statements from the US embassy expressing its anger after the outlets reported false news, sourcing US embassy officials.
Embassy officials met with governmental representatives in the Chamber of Commerce discussing the current crisis in Yemen.
Wu said that the US embassy in Sana’a cannot maintain with the Sana’a Chamber of Commerce if comments that embassy officials made is discussions are misrepresented in governmental press.
Wu was disappointed to see alleged information linked to embassy officials that were false and did not take place.
The United States have repeatedly called for immediate power transfer in Yemen and called on President Saleh to assist and support the transfer of power Gulf Cooperation Council proposal.
