At least eight soldiers have been killed when Al-Qaeda attacked a military camp in Yemen’s southern Abyan province. Tribesmen told the Yemen Post on Tuesday that militants attacked afternoon the camp in Doufas killing eight and injuring tens of others.
The attack came two days after two suicide attacks in the province left almost a dozen tribesmen killed and others injured and as warplanes continued to strike terrorist hideouts killing and injuring dozens of Islamists.
The army has been fighting Al-Qaeda or Sharia supporters for months after they took control over some cities in Abyan and declared it as an Islamic emirate. Lately, Islamists retook over Shuqra city after local tribes had started fighting them along with the armed forces.
