Yemeni vice-president Abdu Rabu Mansoor Haid met on Sunday with a delegation of foreign diplomats in order to discuss once again the country's current situation and political conundrum. Hadi is said to have summed up to his assembly the tenure of his recent meetings with opposing political figures as well as that of the ruling party, stressing that he was looking for a way towards a peaceful resolution of the current crisis. Despite the recent bout of violence witnessed in the streets of Sana'a, the capital and nationwide, Hadi reinforced his commitment to peace, expressing his appreciation towards the international community's support. Meanwhile, the government forces were moving against protesters in "Change Square" shooting randomly into the unarmed crowd. In Arhab, north of the capital, the Air Force was pounding tribes loyal to the revolution, trying there too to stifle those opposed to president Saleh. "The stage is still difficult but slighter than before. We are about to reach a comprehensive agreement" Hadi said. Michele Cervone d'Urso, the European Union ambassador announced on behalf of all ambassadors present at the meeting that the GCC proposal should really be used as a base for future negotiations. She added forcefully that Yemen could not be allowed to sink further into chaos, and that both parties should restraint from the use of violence.
