As a Million men demonstration was underway this morning near "Change Square" in the northern part of the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, violence soon ensued, with snipers shooting upon the crowd and government forces blocking various streets and arteries to prevent anti regime protesters from spreading further out into the city.
Chaotic scenes of massacre have become the norm in the capital as residents do not wince at the sight of severed limbs. After almost 10 months of ongoing armed clashes and daily reports of casualties, Yemenis are becoming accustomed to the horrors of civil war.
Medical sources early this afternoon reported one death and 6 casualties. The Yemen Post knows now that this numbers have risen to at least 3 confirmed deaths in Sana'a, 7 in Arhab, a village on the northern outskirts of the capital and dozens of injuries, some critical.
Disturbingly, women and children are increasingly amongst the dead or the injured. Only today, 2 women were killed shot dead by snipers near Hayel Street in Sana'a, and 5 children were stroke by a mortar shell in Arhab.
After weeks of relative calm, the regime is now resuming its attack on the villages of Arhab, bringing misery to its inhabitants. A few months ago thousands of families had to seek shelter in neighboring mountains as their houses were being pounded by Saleh's forces.
Today the Republican Guards brought destruction to Arhab killing and injuring mostly women and children.
Back in the capital, as the sun is slowly setting, residents are reporting explosions coming from districts under the control of the revolutionaries.
Yemen is bracing itself for another 24 hours of bloodshed.
