Salafists of Yemen are to declare a new political party on Thursday after decades of refusing to participate in the political work.
They launched their conference on Tuesday with the attendee of more than 500 participants.
The Salafists affirmed that this party came as a result of the Yemeni revolution, pointing out that they will positively take part in the political life.
Secretary general of the conference's preparation committee Mohammad Al-Ameri made it clear that the party will not work against any party or sect, stressing that they will commit to all political agreements reached by the Yemeni parties.
A senior Salafi leader, Aqeel Al-Maqtari, cited that the new party will take part in the national dialogue to be held lately of March, indicating that they will provide inclusive political visions about the up-coming stage in Yemen.
He further said that they will cooperate with all Yemeni parties to resolve the southern case on base of the current central system or through federalism.
With regard to women participation, Al-Maqatari said women will take part in the new party, confirming that their freedom will be based on the Islamic law.
"Women will have rights to vote and nomination," a Salif leader had said. "There were inaccurate opinions rasied among the Salafi groups regarding political work, but they were not correct."
The Party Affairs Commission approved on Sunday admission of two Yemeni parties; the Party of Justice and Freedom and the Arab Spring.
On last Janurary, Yemen's Houthi-led Shiite groups announced the formation of a political party, Al-Omah Party, to play a role in the country's new political arena. The party is led by a Shiite cleric, Mohammed Miftah.
