A high-ranking tribal leader in the southern Yemeni province of Abyan confirmed on Monday that both the Saudi diplomat, Abdullah al-Kaledi, and the Swiss teacher held by militants will be not be freed on Tuesday as talked were halted due to differences from within the tribal mediation committee.
The source said that Shiek Tariq al-Fadhali, a prominent tribal chief from Abyan province and a member of the tribal mediation committee, said that both kidnapped hostages are safe.
Al-Fadhali, however, declined to reveal any information about conditions put for the release of both hostages.
The two were supposed to be released on Monday after tribal sources said that talks for their release were going in the right direction.
