At opening a workshop on the criteria to choose women in the Preparatory Committee, Noman said that the dialogue is not a temporary desire or just a way of exiting the country from the crisis, rather it holds all Yemenis responsible for building the new Yemen that everyone wants.
Noman stressed that the preconditions made by some parties in Yemen should be dismissed before the national dialogue kicks off.
"We have to realize that dialogue is the best way to exit the current situation. All sides have to participate in the dialogue and then put their concerns and demands to the table," Noman said.
For her part, Shafiqa Saeed Abdu, the head of the National Committee for Women, pointed out that the workshop aims to agree on the criteria on which women would be selected to be members of the Preparatory Committee.
She said the National Committee for Women is exerting efforts to ensure 30 percent participation for women in the Preparatory Committee in order to bolster the effective relationship between men and women.
The workshop opening was attended by the EU resident ambassador to Yemen Michele Cervone d'Urso.
