The Yemeni government renewed on Tuesday the call to release all detainees held without charges including those who were arrested because of their opinions, Saba reported.
At its weekly meeting, the council of ministers ordered the interior, justice and human rights ministers to pay field visits to prisons and oversee the immediate release of all who have been held without criminal charges including the detainees of opinions, it said.
This month, President Abdrabu Mansour Hadi ordered to release all people including activists who were detained in connection with the popular uprising which erupted in early 2011.
The council referred the draft project of the republic of Yemen's media policy to a ministerial panel to review and study all notes in it and then submit the conclusion for discussion and final approval, Saba said.
It urged the media to adhere to the official policies in line with the policy of national reconciliation and promoting the national spirit to help build a new state of Yemen.
Furthermore, the council approved the transitional program for stability and development, 2012-2014, prepared by the planning ministry, which will be submitted to the meeting of donors, which has been delayed until September.
The meeting will be held in the Saudi capital Riyadh and the government plans to ask for $10 billion in urgent aid during the transitional period.
The program, which aims at restoring economic, security and political stability, included priorities and urgent interventions as well as the medium-term economic recovery program after the 2011 turmoil, Saba said.
