Yemen President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi along with high-level accompanying delegation will visit the United States in late September at the invitation of the US Administration, the military-run 26 September newspaper said. The newspaper quoted well-informed sources as saying that Hadi will take part in the annual meeting of the of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
It affirmed that Hadi will deliver a speech about updates of Yemen's situations and efforts of the political settlement, singling out that he will hold talks with US officials about mutual cooperation and efforts of counterterrorism.
It further said that Hadi will also take part in Yemen's Friend Group on 27 September in which financial pledges will be given to Yemen to fund development projects, help it resume essential services and assist refugees.
The US has increased its aid to Yemen to $337 million so far this year, the biggest aid sum in the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the newspaper cited that Prime Minister Mohammad Salem Basindwa will participate in the donor conference that will be held in Riyadh on September 5-6, indicting that ministers of the GCC states, UN Envoy Jamal Binomar and representative of the EU, US and other donors will take part in the meeting.
The donor states seek to support Yemen during the transition stage to get it out of its economic crisis that was resulted in by political instability and violence.
