The supreme national anti-corruption commission in Yemen decided on Monday to hold all measures to allow a foreign oil firm to build a private airport at its concession in Shabwa province, the official agency Saba reported.
The agency did not name the company and quoted a statement by the commission as referring to it as the operator of Block S2 in the Al-Oqla area.
At its meeting, the commission approved to summon the oil minister according to the article 98 of the executive anti-corruption law, Saba said, but did not mention whether the decision was linked to the company’s plan to build the airport.
The statement coincided with an SMS by the official September 26 website that the Petro Masila company has repaired the technical fault that triggered a halt to pumping crude via the Masila-Ash Shihr pipeline.
The website said the problem has been fixed and pumping crude has resumed.
The pipeline, which carries crude produced in the Seyoun-Masila basin by six foreign and state companies, was shut down on Friday, few days after a sabotage act led to the shutdown of the Marib oil pipeline.
The repairs to the Marib pipeline started on Sunday and are expected to be completed in the next few days, according to officials.
