Yemeni Authorities Release Filipino Nurse

Yemeni authorities released on Monday a Filipino nurse and arrested the two outlaws who were behind her kidnapping, the state news agency Saba reported.
"The kidnappers were arrested at 45th Street while onboard a car with the abducted nurse," Saba quoted an official source as saying.
Annie Johns was, the 20-year old nurse, worked with a state hospital in Sanaa and she was released on good condition, the source said.
The kidnapping of the Filipino occurred on Sunday, few days after gunmen with machine guns and masks raided a store in down the capital Sanaa and snatched three westerners.
Reports have surfaced the authorities are negotiating with the kidnappers of the westerners who are demanding ransom.
Kidnappings of foreigners have increased since the popular uprising erupted in early last year leading to a power vacuum.
Several foreigners have been abducted this year in main cities including the capital Sanaa, Aden and Hodeida. Some of them have been released and others including the Saudi deputy consul, Al-Khalidi, are still detained.
Al-Khalidi was abducted by Al-Qaeda near his home in Aden in March and the authorities have since tried to release him but all efforts went in vein.
