A ceasefire is likely in coming hours in Yemen where the Arab coalition continued to strike Houthi militants and dissident forceson Tuesday, reports said.
The reports said the five GCC states, which have been leading the military operation for weeks, are considering initiatives for hosting talks between Yemeni factions.
The initiatives have been put forward by some countries including the sixth GCC member Oman which did not part participate in the military operation against the Houthi militants.
Some initiatives call for suspending the military operation by the Arab coalition in return for ceasing fire by Houthi militants and pro-former president forces, according to the reports.
They also call for withdrawal of Houthi militants and dissident forces from all Yemeni cities and that the Houthi militant group gives up its weapons and switched to a political party.
Early Tuesday, fighter jets from the coalition targeted weapon stores and brigades loyal to ex-president Saleh and Houthis in several cities including the capital Sanaa, Hodeida and Taiz.
In Sanaa, tens of families have fled their homes in the Shamlan and Dhula'a districts in the northwest after intensified airstrikes on local brigades.
Fragments from the weapon stores targeted by jets reached nearby houses and ambulances rushed to the explosion sites to help those injured.
There were not statistics of casualties.
In the past two days, the Arab coalition intensified airstrikes on militants and brigades loyal to them.
The Arab military operation was launched after the Houthi militants had tightened grip on power following their coup against the transition government.
