Fighter jets from the Saudi-led Arab coalition struck the 35th military camp in Yemen's southern city of Taiz after the Houthi militants took over it, local sources said.
The coalition intensified airstrikes on the camp to prevent the militants from using its weapons amid continued confrontations between the popular resistance committees and militants, they said.
The coalition also targeted military camps controlled by the militants in Aden and other cities.
The camp, which comprised of two battalions within the Khalid Ibn Alwaleed brigade, declared its support to the legitimate president after Houthi militants and forces loyal to ex-president seized power.
It was fighting the militants and dissident forces in the past two weeks with support from the popular resistance fighters.
The developments occurred hours after the coalition announced an end to the bombings on Yemen and president Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi delivered a televised speech from Riyadh.
The coalition said the end to the operation decisive storm launched around four weeks ago does not mean the operation will not continue but rather its objectives have changed.
Reports said the move came within a bid to intensify the efforts to solve the crisis through a political solution.
In his speech, Hadi urged the Yemeni armed forces to assume their national duties at the current turning point.
He also reiterated the call for all Yemenis to resume talks in order to find a solution to the crisis while affirming that he will come back from Saudi Arabia to lead the resumption of the political process.
