Fighter jets from the Saudi-led coalition struck the Al-Sabeen Square in downtown Yemen's capital city of Sanaa on Saturday a day after jets struck Sanaa International Airport for the second time in days.
The square, where Yemen used to hold military parades, was targeted to prevent the Houthi militants from using it as an airport for Iranian planes.
The airstrike was conducted at dawn while militants were preparing the square to be an alternative airport after Sanaa International Airport had been destroyed.
The blockade aims to monitor Yemeni port to and any vessels or planes carrying aid must be checked and given permission from the coalition.
