The Saudi authorities have rectified the statuses of around 22.500 illegal Yemeni migrants since King Salman bin Abdulaziz ordered to help all Yemeni expatriates.
Since the Saudi-led Arab military operation was launched against the Houthi militants on March 26, King Salman has issued several orders over the Yemeni workforce including an order enabling legal Yemeni workers to renew their visas for free.
The status rectification order was issued three weeks ago and came within the Saudi support to Yemen which has been badly affected by violence including the the military operation.
Saudi media quoted officials from the Saudi migration authorities were quoted as saying that the order to help Yemenis inside the kingdom applies to inmates as well.
In this context, the statuses of around 300 Yemeni inmates in the city of Najran have been rectified so far, the officials elaborated.
There are around two million Yemenis living and working in Saudi Arabia, the oil-richest GCC state which is considered one of the strategic donors helping Yemen.
The King also established the Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works which is channeling more than $500 million in Saudi aid to Yemen.
