Intensified Saudi-led airstrikes targeted Houthi military camps and weapon depots in Yemen's capital city of Sanaa on Wednesday.
Military sources said soldiers loyal to the Houthi group and the former president were killed and injured in the raids.
There were civilian casualties and houses near the targets were affected as well, the sources added.
The Arab coalition also conducted airstrikes against Houthis in other cities including Taiz and Aden coinciding with fierce confrontations between pro-government and pro-Houthi forces.
Local sources said the pro-government forces repelled attacks by Houthis forcing them to retreat to outside key parts in Aden.
In Taiz, tens of Houthis were killed and injured in the battles and airstrikes as Houthis continued to shell populated areas.
Several civilians were killed and injured in Houthi shelling in the city.
In Jwaf, local sources revealed the pro-government forces took over key positions from the Houthis after deadly battles.
The developments coincided with reports the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is poised to set June 14th as the start of Geneva talks by Yemeni factions.
Moreover, Ki-moon is expected to reveal a new humanitarian ceasefire after the government and the Houthi group reiterated their readiness to participate in the talks.
