The Houthi delegates have not left Yemen for the Geneva talks rescheduled for Monday raising doubts about the fate of the talks.
Agencies reported that the UN flight which arrived in the country to take the delegates to Geneva left the capital city of Sanaa on Saturday without them. The Houthi group has not commented on the issue.
The talks that have been postponed twice will be sponsored by the UN. Both the government and the Houthi group have lately approved to attend the talks without pre-conditions.
The talks will be focused on how the Houthi militants will adhere to the UN resolution No. 2216 calling on them to cede power, withdraw from Yemeni cities, return state weapons and stop violence.
The government has dispatched seven delegates, according to officials within the government which has been staying in Saudi Arabia for more than two months.
The talks come amid ongoing battles between pro-government and pro-Houthi forces in several cities coinciding with Saudi-led airstrikes against the Houthi militants and forces loyal to the former president.
The months-conflict has put the country on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe as the people are facing lacks of supplies especially wheat, medicines and fuels.
The UN is seeking a new ceasefire in order to deliver relief aid to around 80% of the population in need of emergency aid.
