President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi on Tuesday said the militias of the Houthi group and the former president are obsessed with power and tyranny and that their foreign backers are seeking to use them as a tool to threaten the regional and international security.
In his speech to the meeting of foreign ministers of the organization of Islamic cooperation countries in Jeddah, Hadi attacked the Houthi-Saleh militias that waged a bloody aggression on stable Yemeni cities killing civilians, destroying and looting state installations and causing a humanitarian catastrophe.
Moreover, he said the government is participating in the UN-sponsored talks in Geneva in hope the talks will conclude with outcomes guaranteeing an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people.
"We sent delegates to the talks based on the transition references which are the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the national dialog conference and UN resolutions," he elaborated.
The Iranian delegation walked out of the meeting when Hadi started his speech.
The meeting reiterated full support to the legitimacy of the Yemeni government while urging all factions to reconcile in order to lift their country out of all tragic developments.
Moreover, it called for an immediate concerted effort to deliver humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people affected by violence.
Separately, media websites reported that the GCC states insist on the Houthi adherence to the UN resolutions especially the resolution No. 2216 on Yemen.
They quoted diplomats as saying that the GCC states might think of withdrawing from the UN membership if the UN fails to ensure the Houthi adherence to its resolutions as a necessary move to solve the crisis and stabilize Yemen.
