Around 600 Yemeni soldiers who were lately trained by the Saudi army have arrived in the port city of Aden where armed conflict has been continuing for months.
Local media websites quoted sources within the pro-government forces in Aden as saying Sunday the soldiers were trained in advanced combat tactics and they will lead the resistance against the Houthi militants on war fronts.
More soldiers being trained in Saudi Arabia are expected to arrive in Yemen very soon, the sources were quoted as adding.
Hundreds of Adeni civilians including many children have died in the armed conflict and diseases such as dengue fever in recent weeks.
Aden has been suffering from all crises due to the conflict which has left all cities without fuels, foodstuffs, medicines and other supplies.
Today, the authorities continued to extinguish the fire which broke out at the Aden refinery after a Houthi rocket attack.
The attack targeted the Alzait port on Saturday.
Lately, travellers told the Yemen Post that Yemeni soldiers who had received training in the Saudi Kingdom took over the Wadiah crossing on the border between the two countries.
Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab bombing campaign against the Houthi militants since late March.
Airstrikes by Arab jets have destroyed most of the Houthi heavy and strategic weapons as well as munitions and killed and injured many militants.
Airstrikes targeted Houthi positions, convoys and weapons as the confrontations between the pro-government forces and the Houthis continued in several cities today.
Moreover, the Arab coalition has airdropped weapons to the pro-government forces and has been offering further support to them in a bid to force the Houthis to stop violence and withdraw from cities.
